Safmarine has been active in Africa, the Middle East and the Indian subcontinent for decades before it got together with CMBT in 1996. Safmarine offers two types of services, i.e. fully containerised vessels and also break bulk and project cargo.

In turn Safmarine is owned by ISO one of the largest shipping companies in the world, viz A.P. Moller – Maersk AS – with headquarters in Copenhagen. That Group is involved in such diversified activities as energy, logistics, retail and manufacturing.  Safmarine has five regional offices are in Cape Town, Dubai, Shanghai, Mumbai and Antwerp with 110 offices throughout the world,
